Help to get a good thesis statement!!?

I am writing a research paper about equine stem cell therapy which is using stem cells to fix ligaments and tendons and bone damage and such in horses. My paper is mostly about the controversy of using embryonic stem cells. I need a good thesis statement and just cant seem to get the words right :/ Can somebody please help me??
Or i thought i might have a better argument on stem cell therapy and research vs. modern day treatments andd such..What do you think??

   How about something like….

   Although highly controversial, initial research into equine stem cell therapy has produced promising and medically beneficial results.

   or just

   Initial research into equine stem cell therapy has produced promising and medically beneficial results.
