I’m not sure of the cost of radiation specifically for throat cancer. I know that radiation treatments for cancers in general for the whole course run into the tens of thousands of dollars. This is why we need socialized healthcare!!! But anyway, you do need to know that malignant cancer cells, by definition, spread VERY quickly. That’s WHY they’re malignant. If they didn’t spread, it would be a benign tumor. I wish I knew more but I’m not a doctor. However, I do sympathize with you, believe me!

There is a very sad irony here. The politicians and the fundies want a constitutional amendment to save what amounts to a bundle of cells in a test tube, saying it’s a human life, and will lie their God-loving a**es off to save it.
But woe to the person who is already born; if they get sick and have no medical insurance, they’re s*** out of luck.
To answer your question, rad treatments can be very expensive; tens of thousands of dollars.
Cancers grow at different rates, some are more aggressive than others. I would suggest you contact your local chapter of the Cancer Society, they will be better equipped to answer your questions than the vast majority of people on YA.

    I wish you good luck.

When I went for my throat cancer radiation treatments, I had to co-pay $5 a visit. I am an adult who works full time and I have Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Health Insurance through work.
Squamous Cell Carcinomas grow very rapidly! Very Very Fast!

I think my neck radiation was around $1,250 per treatment and I had approx 28 of them.
